Merry CHRISTmas, everyone!

Gala Noel's very first Christmas is only days away and we can hardly believe it. She's grown so much! Every day she surprises us more and more. She's now saying "papa" on a regular basis (no mama yet...), waving bye bye and crawling (more backwards than foward). She's so smart and sweet, sometimes she spreads her arms open and when you want to pick her up she'll just hug you. She just rocks our world.

Just wanted to wish everyone the best, to our dear friends and family, both here and elsewhere around the world. We pray for you and love you dearly. I also want to invite you to enjoy the simple things. In this time when it seems it's all about shopping and presents, it's easy to get caught in marketing frenzy (haven't we been seeing Santas since September?). Put some pinecones in a bowl, a poinsettia in a pale corner, an orange and clove pomander where it's scent will capture you. (If you don't know how to make one, golly-gee! send me an email!).

And on a personal note, please do not sign "Happy Holidays" this year. Let's put the CHRIST back in Christmas. Love y'all!

This blog is dedicated to everyone, but specially to auntie Les, Mildred, Pam, Cyn and Sanett; all great moms and moms to be. For our deaf friends. Nothing fills me like serving you. And for my niece who'll debut in this wonderful world in a matter of days!

La primera Navidad de Gala ya esta por llegar y apenas y podemos creerlo. Ha crecido tanto! Cada día nos sorprende más y más. Ya dice "papa" practicamente diario (no, mamá todavía no...), saluda con su manita y gatea (más hacia atrás que adelante). Es muy linda y dulce, a veces abre los brazos y cuando la vamos a cargar nos da un abrazo. Simplemente hace nuestro mundo girar.

Queremos desearles lo mejor a nuestros familiares y amigos aquí y en el resto del mundo. Oramos por ustedes y los queremos. También quiero invitarlos a disfrutar de las cosas más simples. En esta temporada es fácil caer en la mercadotecnia y pensar que es acerca de regalos y gastos (No parece que hemos visto Santa Clauses desde Septiembre?). Pon piñas y bellotas en un plato hondo, una nochebuena en una esquina vacía, una naranja con clavos de olor donde su perfume te invada (no sabes como hacer un pomander como este? escribeme!).

Y un favor personal. No firmes "felices fiestas" en tus cartas y tarjetas este año. Recordemos que Christmas viene de Christ, que es Cristo Jesús. Honor a quien honor merece! Los quiero!
